The Climate Hive is a give-first community that connects climate practitioners through weekly curated 1:1 Hive Chats, matched by shared goals and interests.

Everything happens straight to your inbox via a regular cadence of a few weekly emails.

Our Community is not a job board, a Slack group, or a lead-generation tool. We ask that you refrain from aggressive self-promotion, recruiting pitches, or funding requests in your chats.

Collaborations and partnerships absolutely happen here, but they emerge organically from genuine conversation, not extraction.

When you join, we'll ask about your interests, your goals, and the kinds of connections you're looking for. From there, everything happens right in your inbox—no log-ins to manage, no Slack groups to check.

Each Friday, you'll receive an email invitation for the following week's Hive Chat. Want to participate? Select a time slot before Monday at 5 pm ET, and a hold will land on your calendar right away (if you use a smaller provider, use the attachment in your email.)

Sitting this one out? No action needed (and that’s okay!).

A few days before your chat, you'll receive an email introducing you to your match. An hour before your chat, you’ll receive a reminder email with your chat link.

When it's time, just click the link in your calendar hold and you'll meet directly on our platform for a timed, 30-minute conversation.

The broadest possible thing. Climate is the word we use for sustainability, environmentalism, conservation, circularity, climate justice, and everything in between. No single word can capture all the work happening or needed in this field.

Climate touches everything: food, finance, health, housing, policy, education, technology, gender, culture, and beyond. That's exactly why cross-sector connection is at the heart of our mission. Our challenges are interdisciplinary, so the community should be too. If your work intersects with climate from any direction, you belong here!

Life happens! We are all busy professionals.

Just reach out to your match directly. (their contact info is in your intro email) and pick a new time, date, and video platform that works for you both.

Respect for each other’s time is a core tenet of our community. we take no-shows seriously. If a member misses a chat without notice, we'll check in with them. After a second no-show, membership is ended and any unused time refunded.

Running late or something came up? Just email your match to let them know reschedule. As long as you are in good communication with your week’s match, that's never a no-show.

Yes! We all have more to give than we realize. Your questions, your perspective, and your experience, whatever stage they’re at, are valuable to this community.

Our field runs on generosity and shared purpose, and so does our Hive.

If your hive chat partner hasn’t shown up after 5 minutes, you’ll see a small box pop-up that says, “Would you like a rematch?”

If you do, click yes and you’ll be matched with someone else in the same scenario.

If your week’s match has told you they won’t be able to join, click the same link in your calendar hold and wait for the rematch option at the 5-minute mark.

When it's time, click the link in your calendar hold or in the reminder email we send one hour before your chat. You and your match will both appear on our platform for a timed, 30-minute chat. No log-in or download needed.

One note: if your email provider doesn't support automatic calendar holds, you may need to add the hold to your calendar manually when you select your time slot.

Whatever you'd like! There is no agenda, no script, and no networking performance required.

You're matched based on the interests and goals you share with us. Some weeks you'll have lots in common with your match; other weeks you might seem to work in totally different corners of the ecosystem.

Either way, we invite you to bring curiosity and generosity, the same values that fuel our hive and our field as a whole.

Your match's intro email will have their LinkedIn profile: What are they working on? What do you share? What are you curious to ask them?

We offer these questions as starters:

1. What are you celebrating (climate-related or not)?

2. What are you seeking?

3. What are you puzzling over?

4. What gives you hope these days?

Shortly after your chat, you'll receive a short feedback email. We read every response, and your honest feedback helps us know what to improve.

Had a great conversation? We'd love it if you shared a bit about it on LinkedIn, or left us a testimonial we can share with our community.

Did you have a less-than-awesome experience? This feedback is just as valuable as the good.

Beyond that, what happens next is entirely up to you. Some chats become collaborations, partnerships, or ongoing friendships; some are simply one good conversation.

Either way, we hope that you feel you have one more person in your corner, cheering you on!

Chat invitations go out every Friday, so if you joined mid-week, your first one may simply be around the corner.

If Friday has passed, there are two likely culprits:

Membership has two quick steps, and the second one is what powers your matches. After payment (or joining during our Founding Member phase) you’ll need to respond to our intake questions in order to be matched for and invited to chats.

Check your spam or promotions folder, and add us to your contacts so future invitations land where you'll see them.
